BRANDING:
Unveiling Australia's Most Sustainable City
CLIENT:
Campbelltown City Council
LOCATION:
Campbelltown, Australia
How do you rebrand a whole city? How do you tell the community these plans and capture their ideas effectively? These were the questions we faced on the Reimagining Campbelltown project. We wanted to transform Campbelltown CBD into Australia’s greenest and most sustainable city.
A revitalised brand was unveiled for Campbelltown City Council – a new city, a new look. The work I did on this project would launch the new brand, setting the tone for the Campbelltown City Council internal design team.

01
Inviting the community to participate
A critical step in this project was to make it clear that the community was being invited to have their say in the reimagining of the city – their beloved home wouldn't be changed without their input. I created a series of materials for community workshops, posters for the general public and a set of postcards to help capture ideas. It was important to create trust and positivity.

02
A constantly changing beast
All of the ideas for the revitalisation of Campbelltown city – the architecture, the green space, the new transport links – were all documented in immense detail in a master plan. The master plan needed to look exciting and modern but also reliable and well-planned. There was a huge amount of content to distill, over two dozen people to collaborate with and the deadlines were constantly changing. The final master plan was an award-winning success.

03
Showing that we listened
After engaging with the community to capture their ideas, the next part was to relay these ideas back and show that we listened. I created a series of videos to be displayed on Campbelltown City Council's social media pages. Each video focused on different themes: sustainability, the future generation, transport and employment & education opportunities.
